Place 120ml of semi-skimmed milk, 280ml of water and up to 15g of butter or margarine (optional) into a saucepan. Bring to the boil and stir in the contents of this packet. Reduce heat. Simmer until pasta is cooked and the sauce is of the desired consistency (approximately 6-8 minutes), stirring frequently. The sauce will thicken on standing.
Based on a 750/800W (Category D) oven. Adjust cooking time in accordance with microwave wattage. Empty the contents of this packet into a 1.5-2 litre microwaveable bowl. Add 120ml of semi-skimmed milk, 280ml of boiling water and up to 15g of butter or margarine (optional). Stir and cover loosely. Microwave on full power for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through. Stir again and leave to stand, covered for 3-4 minutes to allow sauce to thicken.
